Balancing act?

CAUTION? The longer I live the more I’m convinced that life is a continuous balancing act along the slippery slope dividing family priorities and the cares of this world.

Think about it. One of the greatest ministries you can have is to your own family. It brings joy to your relatives and it is pleasing to God. You and I ought to give daily thanks to the Lord for our families asking how we can be more caring them and how we might be able to better prioritize their needs over ours, especially those dealing with our professional and personal life.

God’s Word tells us: … learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God (1 Timothy 5:4).

God is pleased when we put family first, above all other earthly matters. But, He never guaranteed this would be easy. It is and always has been a precarious balancing act; one that we dare not fail to negotiate with wisdom and determination.

“I pray today in Jesus name that each of us remember to always keep our families first, before all things in our lives. Help us by Your Spirit to avoid the slippery slope of other things before the right things. Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
