Free at least? In this world of sin, it is hard for a Christian to experience the freedom that God has granted us through Christ. He has freed us from our slavery; we are declared righteous. But the world does not recognize our freedom. It strives to enslave us. What is the key to staying on the right path, the path that will lead us away from slavery and into freedom?
Think about it. The secret to being free is to devote ourselves to service. Every battle we fight, is one more step toward crucifying the flesh and putting it into subjection.
God’s Word tells us: “ … so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness” (Romans 6:8b).
If you want a body that is truly free, try putting it to work in the Lord’s vineyard. Nothing disciplines our flesh like service! Our flesh will devise subtle, religiously acceptable means to call attention to “other” services rendered? If we refuse to give in, however we crucify it. Every time we crucify the flesh, we crucify our pride and arrogance. Free, free at last!
“Heavenly Father, although we live in the freedom of Jesus Christ, our bodies often don’t reflect it. Sin continues to make us slaves to our flesh. Give us opportunity to serve You that we might crucify our flesh and start leading lives that are truly free!” In Jesus name we pray. Amen!
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
