Pride drive? Ever find yourself driving into the sun, without sunglasses unable to find the right onramp? Your goal may have been to find the freeway ramp, but Instead you found a country road headed in the wrong direction. Blinded, you made the wrong decision to turn.
Think about it. Driving into a sunrise without sunglasses can be a humbling experience. Hard as we try to cope, the sun can easily get the better of you. Pride is like that.
God’s Word tells us: “When Saul saw how successful he was, he was afraid … But all Israel and Judah loved David, because he led them in their campaigns.” (1 Samuel 18:15).
When we allow ourselves to be affected by our own importance, it’s like driving into the sun. You may go along pretty well for a while, but without sunglasses, a time will come when you will be blinded by the light. Similarly, if you don’t put on the glasses of humility, you can just as easily loose direction. If success turns your head, you’re probably looking in the wrong direction.
“Heavenly Father, Today we choose to walk humbly with You. We choose to live by Your Holy Spirit and to follow Your lead. Help us to hear You clearly, for we do not want to walk by pride or self-sufficiency, we want to walk with You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
