Worth the wait? When God created the earth, He made it perfect. The sun shone only on perfection. The trees sheltered only that which was good. The streams watered only that which was worthy. Then sin entered the world. It occupied the space formerly occupied by the righteous. Despite the unworthiness of corrupted mankind, the sun still gave its warmth, the trees their shade and the waters their freshness.
Think about it. Both the wicked and the righteous share this perfect creation; one standing the test of time. It remains watchman, sentinel, and provider despite our sin.
God’s Word tells us: “We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time” (Romans 8:22).
Creation groans and sighs under our abuse but it will not flinch; not until the day Jesus comes to rid the world of sin forever and all creation will cry out in one collective shout, “The one Who made us has returned. It was worth the wait!”
“Heavenly Father, how can we ever thank You for this beautiful world, a world that is a reflection of the Word You used to create it so long ago? As it groans in anticipation of the return of our Savior, Jesus Christ, so we too sigh, waiting in patience for the Creator to return. It will be worth the wait! In Jesus name we pray. Amen!”
