A Guy thing?

A guy thing? I’ve always been someone who took great pride in being able to undertake a heavy load and get it done with a minimum of help.“It’s a guy thing.” I may be getting older, but the “guy thing” is still strong, pushing me to take risks, trying for that one more lift or push to prove I still “have it.”

Think about it. The fact is that when you come to the realization no one really cares how much you can move or what level of endurance you can put your body through, you finally come to the realization that the “guy thing” pays few dividends. You’re better off seeking accomplishment through cooperation with others than by pure, self-reliance.

God’s Word tells us: “Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you” (Deuteronomy 1:13).

There’s a place for self-reliance, but it should never be ahead of trust in the One, who out of love for us, beckons us to rely on Him, our Heavenly Father. And since He reveals Himself in love through others, others ought to be the ones we rely on first. When you think about it, that requires a whole lot more of courage and grit than foolishly doing it ourselves.

“Heavenly Father, we come to you today looking to grow our team. We know the importance you put on helping each other, and we ask that you join us for this next exercise. Lord, I ask that you bless us with the ability to view each other’s strengths and weaknesses. together. In Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.. In Jesus name Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
