God rules?

God rules? As I grow older and am able to reflect back on nearly seven decades of history in my life I am often astonished at how “all things work together for good” in God’s plan. This is one of those little blessings that is easier for those of us who have lived this long to understand.

Think about it. The marvelous thing about history and God’s sovereignty over time is we are free to do His will, a will that can be accomplished with or without our cooperation.

God’s Word tells us: “…your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).

God rules! When we strive to do battle with Him, the God of time, we will never win. Doing so only enslaves us to the will of the devil standing menacingly in our corner. Our time becomes His time when we reject our own willfulness and embrace His will. Then we achieve real victory and freedom from sin. This is God’s will for me, for you, and for men and women of all time.

“Heavenly Father, Help us to take off the gloves of pride and envy. When Jesus advances to embrace us this day, may we always be willing to depart from our willing sinning in favor of His Holy embrace. When all else fails, O Lord, may we never complain when You show us the the hard way! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
