Undercurrents?

Undercurrents? God certainly is not behind the evil in this world. There is neither room nor provision for God in that respect. So, why doesn’t God simply overpower the forces of evil and defend His people from all that is evil?

Think about it. We are not privy to His knowledge or wisdom. But we can be assured that He is working in our lives even when evil threatens us.

God’s Word tells us: “…the LORD is enthroned as King forever. The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace” (Psalm 29:1-11).

The winds of life often blow evil in our direction. However, if we are firmly planted in God’s Word, we will draft deep into the power of His wisdom and grace. The winds of evil may blow with all their might, but our direction is assured even if we are not able to see it or understand it. It is there beneath us like a deep and mighty current. Bad things still happen, but beneath those happenings God is working good through them. We just aren’t always capable of seeing that when we are caught up in the winds of life.

“Heavenly Father, sometimes it is hard to remember Your will is behind everything that happens to us. Help us to trust You, that we rest secure in the knowledge that even when bad things happen, good will follow. In Jesus name. Amen!

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
