Wonderful life?

A wonderful life? “You see George, you really had a wonderful life. Strange, isn't it? . . . Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?” Memorable words from a memorable movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” George has just been given a chance to see what life would have been like if he’d never been born. His eyes had been opened to the blessings God grants each of us.

Think about it. We grow up, marry, raise a family, watch them grow and leave the nest. In the end, we hope everything we did turns out well for our children and grandchildren.

God’s Word tells us: “Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him (Genesis 18:18-19).

Our purpose rests in the fact that God designed us from the beginning to serve others and not ourselves. We will become truly “great” and “powerful” as individuals when we look for our purpose in the small things that we do for others. If you do nothing else today strive to touch someone’s life with your love. There are so many holes to fill. You’ve had a wonderful life.

“Heavenly Father, forgive us when we choose to mourn the life we could have had while not appreciating the one You have given us. It is a wonderful life if it is lived in the hope of finishing well and living with You. In Jesus name, Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
